History of Don Bosco Academy

Many students, families, and friends have asked us why we chose the name "Don Bosco" for our academy. Here's our origin, vision, and mission statement.

Our Origin

The name "Don Bosco" for our academy is a tribute to Saint John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, an influential 19th-century Italian priest and educator. Saint John Bosco is renowned for his dedication to educating and guiding youth, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. He founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, religious order focused on the education and welfare of young people.

Don Bosco's educational philosophy, often referred to as the Preventive System, is based on three key principles: reason, religion, and loving-kindness. He believed in creating a positive and supportive environment where students could thrive academically, morally, and spiritually. His approach emphasized preventive measures over punitive ones, fostering a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere for learning and personal growth.

Our Vision

Choosing the name "Don Bosco" for our academy signifies a commitment to these principles and to providing a holistic education that addresses both the academic and character development of students. It reflects the academy's mission to create a supportive and enriching environment, much like the one Don Bosco advocated for in his work with youth.
